A method for moulding food products involves moving a mould member, such as a rotating drum with cavities, past a feed channel connected to a feed pump, preferably a positive displacement rotor pump. The system determines the mould cavity's position relative to the feed channel to control the pump. Filling is executed through a hybrid control mechanism, utilizing both pump pressure and displaced volume or volumetric flow rate. This approach mitigates pressure peaks associated with pure volume control and filling distortions caused by drum speed variations in pure pressure control.
